HOLLYWOOD, Calif .– In 2020, walking a stage is a rare privilege for hip-hop artist Polo G. Before Covid -19, he was always ready to perform in front of his millions of fans.
“It’s like one of the best parts of music, just being able to see the people who are physically supporting you, see them and hear them sing your song verbatim,” said Polo G.
“It’s one of the best parts of the job.”
But because of the pandemic, artists like him have found a new way to take the stage. He performs live in a new studio built in Hollywood specifically for streaming. His fans watch him live on Stream Live by Bendr, an app specially designed for concert streaming.
“Just a way to stay connected with fans other than dropping the music,” continued Polo G.
This app and studio space was created by Kyle Massey. Many may remember him as Cory on the Disney sitcom, It’s so Raven. But now he’s grown up. He and his team had the foresight to start broadcasting concerts well before the pandemic.
“We have had great success bringing artists to life in person. We did one in Australia. We did Migos in Vegas, ”Massey said.
“We want to bring celebrities to the fans to the point where you feel like you can touch them right in the glass.”
While we’re still dealing with the coronavirus, it gives artists like Polo G a chance to do what they love.
“Just another working day for me at the end of the day, no crowds, five people, anyway it’s the same for me,” said the rapper.
